TORRINGTON
Cinema
The Cinema, as it was simply
known opened in 1919 in a
narrow lane called Church Lane
in the heart of the small town of
Great Torrington.  The cinema
was run by Fred Russell on
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
and Saturday nights.
Plough Arts Centre
Torrington is not without films today, thanks to the Plough Arts Centre,
9-11 Fore Street. A conversion of a rather fine looking town house.
Offering a range of art activities, the cinema is equipped with 108 seats
and shows a range of mostly art house films, with Dolby sound.
