1951 this was one of three venues in Monmouthshire chosen by
Harry Jefferies of Newport to show films part time.
In October 1951 he cancelled his other two operations and
extended his shows here to 4 performances a week, which
continued until the end of 1953. A further licence to show films was
obtained by Mr H E Curtis of Raglan between 1971-72 for 286
children, also at this venue.
