Gone but not forgotten:        Town Hall
Operating from the 1920s until WWII this cinema was probably part time.  Operated at first by
Frank Charles Elgar, It was housed in the Town Hall.  The operation came under the control of
Philip E G Taylor and Cornwall Cinemas (Newquay) Ltd by 1940.  There were 200 seats, RCA
sound and a 20' wide proscenium.  The operation appears to have ceased after World War II.
The Town Hall was demolished in 1970s and now the site is a small public car park in the
centre of town, for about 8 cars.
