The Town Hall was used for a part time cinema operation in silent days. The Walfords were associated with this cinema.  A cinema is again listed mid to late 1930s in the village hall, which appears to be the same building, as Colyton is not much more than a village.   Over the entrance is an inscription "Feoffees Town Hall".  This refers to the grant of the manor, a rural term.
